Drive Sweden Pilot:
Advancing AI-Assisted Reporting for Safer Roads
As part of our commitment to improving road safety and data quality in public transport, Road Hero is proud to participate in a Drive Sweden pilot project: AI-assisted reporting, the communicating driver. The project is supported by Vinnova through the Drive Sweden Strategic Innovation Programme and addresses long-standing challenges in incident and deviation reporting within the bus industry.
Underreporting and low-quality reports have traditionally limited transport operators’ ability to understand risks, identify patterns, and implement effective mitigating measures. The Drive Sweden pilot seeks to overcome these challenges by integrating an AI-powered assistant that guides drivers through the reporting process using voice interaction in their native language, aligned with their normal workflow in the driver’s cab.
The pilot focuses on:
✔ Improving data completeness and quality, enabling richer insights for decision-makers and fleet managers
✔ Promoting inclusion and usability by supporting oral reporting in multiple languages
✔ Validating real-world effectiveness through iterative testing in collaboration with Swedish bus operators
